About the Green
The present Village Green was originally a sand tip area.
Some years ago, Foxhole Cricket Club created a cricket pitch there with the permission of English China Clays. The pitch was never used because of drainage problems.
In 2002 Imerys offered the site to the village. A board of trustees and a management committee was set up.
The Green has a woodland walk around it, the walk being just under half a mile long. There are picnic benches around the perimeter of the field and practice football goals and a basketball net for all to use.
Until recently the Foxhole Cricket Club played their home matches on a pitch on the Green, the drainage problems having been remedied.
From time to time events are organised to take place on the Green. The Fun Family Dog Shows and the annual Fun Day are two such events. Other events take place at a range of local venues.
A Message to all from the Management Committee
Welcome to the Village Green web site. We hope you will find it helpful and useful.
You may never have ventured onto the Village Green, or you may be a frequent user. Whichever describes you, various upcoming events (see the events page) will provide an excellent opportunity to enjoy the Green and meet with some of the Committee. The Committee would love to meet you, hear your views and share your ideas for the benefit of the Green.
The Green is for all to use and respect. We’d like to think you will participate in our organised events but also use the Green for your own recreation. All we ask is that you remember others and help us to keep it the way you would wish to find it.
Foxhole Village Green is not a Council owned facility but is managed and maintained by unpaid volunteers.
If you want to get more involved and assist with the organisation of any of our events, or even work with the committee, then we’d love to hear from you. You can contact us by sending your name and a contact number or general comments to... email@example.com
.... and we just have to say a big thank you for all of the support that you have given in the past.
